Introvert's Guide to Starting a Wellness Podcast

Hi and welcome to Wealthy Wellness Biz - I’m your podcast host Nicole Harlow – CEO of Brand Better®, brand strategist and podcast producer for wellness businesses.

This is the place to be if you’re a wellness entrepreneur, health coach, functional medicine practitioner or naturopathic doc looking to turn your wellness biz into a WEALTHY wellness biz.

Today’s episode is about podcasting and if you’re interested in digging deeper into how a podcast can help you add 6-figures of revenue to your business in the next 12-months, I’d love to invite you to join our latest free masterclass using the link in the shownotes.

One of the things that always surprises people about me is that I’m an introvert (it’s true, INFJ here!)

And I think what surprises them is that they see me putting myself out there in business, hosting a podcast, teaching workshops … appearing confident and grounded in being front-and-center in my business.

While that’s true now, it’s been a process of development – with practice I’ve learned how to foster a sense of confidence being the face of my business, taught myself techniques to support my nervous system and probably most importantly, leaned heavily on automations that makes it seem like I’m everywhere at once … while I’m actuality I’m curled up in my fuzzy blankets drinking tea and reading a book.

On today’s episode of Wealthy Wellness Biz, I want to share my thoughts on why I think that not only is it totally possible to start your own wellness podcast as an introvert … but I actually think that introverts make some of THE best podcast hosts.

So if you’re an introvert listening to this and you’re thinking “I don’t think I could ever put myself out there” like that, I want to share with you 5 reasons why I believe podcast is an awesome content creation medium for introverts just like us.

  • YOUR PODCAST SHOULD BE A NATURAL EXTENSION OF THE WORK THAT YOU ALREADY DO — YOU ARE ALREADY FULLY QUALIFIED TO HOST A PODCAST. There’s a common misconception that introverts don’t like to talk, but that’s not actually true for most of us … when we’re comfortable and engaged in a topic that we’re passionate about, it’s sometimes hard to get us to shut up.

  • INTROVERTS TEND TO BE DEEP THINKERS – that level of deep thinking and processing means that you have amazing insight to share with your listeners. They’ll appreciate your thoughtful approach to helping them solve their problems

  • PODCASTING MAKES THE SALES PROCESS EASIER – Podcasting is an amazing relationship builder … when you start building deep relationships, prospects will come to you already feeling like they “know you” … this means you can sell your offers more easily

  • WE DON’T LIKE “SURFACE” AND SOCIAL MEDIA CAN BE A BOTHER – When you podcast, you’ll always know what to say on social media … PODCASTING ALSO DOESN’T HAVE AN EXPERIATION DATE … because we don’t like working on things that pointlessly expend our energy

  • FINALLY - AND MY FAVE, PODCASTING ALLOWS YOU TO CREATE WHEN YOUR ENERGY IS ALIGNED. Interviews are optional, you can mess up as many times as you want, you don’t have to be camera-ready or even on camera if you don’t want to. I used to record in a closet … it doesn’t get more introverted than that.
